Online taxi is currently part of official transport in Indonesia with UBER, GRAB and GOCAR now considered as one of the official public transportation by the government to cover public transport shortage.

Today, UBER, GRAB and GOCAR have become official companies in Indonesia and supported by the government, but it's not come in a flash, there is a great and endless commotion for several months. Because of the illegality of UBER, GRAB, and GOCAR, the government through minister of transportation and conventional taxi syndicate attempted to evict and shut down online taxis, but failed to be defended by drivers and passengers.
On the basis of widespread public interest and technological progress, not only legalized, but also the government pushes online taxis to cooperate with conventional taxis. The cooperation has now come true.
